Metal Detecting Thai Riviera

I have already visited the Thai version of Stonehenge, the Thai Grand Canyon in Ubon Ratchathani and the Thai Maldives on Koh Lipe, and now, yes, I am going to go metal detecting at the Thai Riviera in Nakhon Si Thammarat.

Now, I have absolultely no idea why Nadan (Na Dan) beach in Khanom, Nakhon Si Thammarat is referred to as the Thai Riviera, but, if it is like the others mentioned above, it is completely misnamed.

Koh Lipe Maldives of Thailand

Now, a few big rocks doesn’t make Stonehenge and a minor cut in the land is not the Grand Canyon. Plus, somewhat clear water with tons of trash isn’t the Maldives.

So, I really don’t know what to expect at Nadan Beach – the Thai Riviera. I doubt there will be similar nightlife but I am sure the prices will be lower.

All I want is a lot of beach and few foreign tourists and I believe Nadan Beach will give me both.

I plan to hunt, relax, have a few beers and maybe get lucky with some gold or Thai Buddhist amulets.

I will also meet up with Stefan Burford from Metal Detecting Thailand and Global Diggers and we will hunt together for a couple of days. He is more familiar with the area as he used to teach there.

Regardless of what I find, I am sure I will have a great time as I love going to the beach and visiting new areas. I did go to Nakhon Si Thammarat back in 2000 but I was in the US Army and was here for Exercise Cobra Gold and didn’t visit any beaches.

Stay tuned for metal detecting videos and photos from Nadan Beach in Khanom. Nakhon Si Thammarat.
