Last month, while out for a 3-week metal detecting holiday at Ban Krut Beach in Prachuap Khiri Khan, Thailand, I had the opportunity to test drive the Scuba Tector by Deteknix.
Stefan, at Metal Detecting Thailand & Global Diggers convinced the good folks at Deteknix to send over one of their new Scuba Tectors for us to test out and review. Then, we told Deteknix, we would have a contest and give it away.
The Scuba Tector is a nifty addition to one’s underwater detecting arsenal. It is perfect for getting into small places, like in between rocks, and is a lot of fun to use while snorkeling or diving.
I tried it out while snorkeling and had a lots of fun, though I didn’t find a lot – but that wasn’t the fault of the Scuba Tector, there just weren’t many targets in the water at this predominantly Thai beach.
It will also come in handy if you hunt waterfalls or swimming holes.
The Scuba Tector is a mini PI (Pulse Induction) detector – it will find metal – all metal – with no discrimination. I didn’t do any depth tests but would estimate that it will find coins and jewelry easily at up to 6 inches and bigger targets a little deeper.
A great device that I was fortunate enough to be able to test out thanks to Deteknix and Stefan.
So, go here – Metal Detecting Thailand & Global Diggers – and check out the contest to win a Scuba Tector.
